Health and Grooming
Vaccines are important to maintaining your puppies health. All of our puppies receive their first set of boosters at 8 weeks old before going to their new homes, they are also wormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks. However they are not fully protected and their vaccines are not complete!
The first booster they get is called DHPP and those letters stand for Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and parainfluenza. At the time a puppy goes to their new home at 8 weeks they are only partially protected from these dangerous illnesses. We highly recommend not taking your puppy to places that are high traffic areas for dogs, until they have completed their puppy boosters at 16 weeks of age. Socialization is important and we encourage everyone to continue their puppy's interactions, but just to be cautious until they have received their last set of boosters! Parvo especially is a highly contagious and often fatal illness. After their 16 week booster your puppy will be good to go anywhere and everywhere and we recommend that they do, as it is of great benefit to their socialization.
